Nintendo should make an Animal Crossing/Disney Dreamlight Valley type game that is Zelda/Hyrule themed. ๐ฎ
Things I like This Week: Week 3
Here are the things I liked this week.
- Superman is partly responsible for the existence of the Hubble Space Telescope.
- Joe Buck and Chip Caray were in the booth for a Cardinals game this week. Great to hear Buck calling Cardinals games again and loved hearing them talk about Harry Caray and Jack Buck.
- If you want to subscribe to a Newsletter via RSS instead of email, Kill the Newsletter may be the service for you. They give you a unique email address and generate an RSS feed from anything emailed to that address.
- Talk to Someone (Anyone) by Roman Bรผrki
- The Olympics
Iโm pretty sure the Olympics are gaslighting us. There canโt possibly be that many tennis events yet thatโs all that is ever on.
Instagram served me an ad for a $19,000 record player console. They are wildly overestimating my spare income. I canโt think of a single other thing in my house that costs that much.
There’s a Batman serial from 1943. Every 15 minute episode revolves around Batman and Robin being horribly outmatched and losing in a fight. They haven’t won a fight yet. No Bat gadgets. Not event a grappling hook. I haven’t made it to the end yet.
I wish there was a web-based version of Apple News and/or Apple News+ where you can log in and get your recommended articles and magazines when not on an Apple device.
Anyone else getting their commercials interrupted by 2 minutes of Olympics coverage, or just me? Poor advertisers are losing valuable airtime to actual sport.
Things I Like This Week: Week 2
This week was a busy week for me, so there wasn’t much new that I liked, but I did find some new things, as well as found comfort in some old favorites.
- Pearl Jam - MTV Unplugged
- JD Vance Couch Memes
- Pain Salesmen by Prof and Ren
- USWNT Soccer and the Olympics
- Linux Mint 22
- Bando Stone and the New World by Childish Gambino
- MASH and Batman Virtual Channels on my Channels server
Now playing Huey Lewis and the News - Collected

Now playing Pearl Jam - MTV Unplugged

Universal Control just quit working between my Macbook and iPad. I’ve tried every solution I could find and nothing works. It was a feature I used daily too. So annoying. Anyone else run into this?
Are ropes on hats really back in style and why? I wasn’t a fan in the ’80s. Still not a fan.

Switched back to Zorin OS from Mint. I really do like the UI of Zorin.
I used to think John Siracusa was the most logical person on the internet. Then I heard the ATP member’s special where he revealed he has an app on his iOS dock that is no longer functional and serves as a memorial for the app. Taking up a whole dock spot. Crazy.
I went for a short 5 mile bike ride this morning. Half way in, it started raining for about 5 blocks, then I was out of it. So that was fun.
Things I Like This Week: Week 1
There is so much bad in the world, sometimes I forget to take time to appreciate the good things in life. I hope to start weekly post where I list some things that I liked throughout the week. This is Week 1.
-
The MLB channel on Pluto.tv where they show classic MLB games and other baseball programming.
-
The North 02 YouTube channel for informative videos on past cultures and civilizations.
-
Speaking of YouTube, Cleo Abram’s channel is fantastic for optimistic tech explainers.
That’s it for Week 1. Hopefully, you find something you enjoy. What are you enjoying this week?
Watching the 1985 NLCS Ozzie Smith walk off home run game. I love being able to revisit these old games.
My only gripe with the new Overcast (so far) is no seek options (forward and backward) in the MiniPlayer at the bottom. It means an extra touch to open the podcast first.

This St. Louis City SC team just looks lost.
