Sad to see Mario Kart World Tour is shutting down. It’s a game I play every day on iOS.

I have a love of all things retro and baseball. Combine them and you get Ribbie. Ribbie allows you to watch MLB games rendered as 8bit pixel art pitch-by-pitch in real time.

An 8-bit styled video game graphic depicts a baseball stadium at night, complete with players, scoreboards, and surrounding details on a wooden-framed screen.

If you want to add the US Men’s or Women’s National Teams to your calendar for the World Cup you can subscribe to them here.

Coax added Coax Weather. I love it.

Today’s soundtrack is Nate Dogg’s G Funk Classics Vol. 1 & 2.

A digital music player displays the song Hardest Man in Town by Nate Dogg, featuring a cartoon-style character on the album cover for G Funk Classics Vol. 1 & 2.

Oh boy. Anghellic 25th anniversary on vinyl.

Game Changer on Dropout is so good. That show alone is worth the price of the subscription.

Check out Designed in California: An Apple history podcast by Jason Snell on Kickstarter. Can’t wait to listen.

Parachute rewrote their iCloud Photo backup engine and it seems like it is much slower now. I back up weekly with incremental backups and don’t take that many pictures (10 a week at most) and it still takes forever.

I may have to give Interstate 60 another watch. What a weird and fun movie.

There’s now an iOS version of Gnome, for your gif needs.

I’ve been waiting for Indigo to come out for a while. It’s a great app for crossposting to Bluesky and Mastodon. I had been using Croissant for cross-posting, but it wasn’t a full client.

Do you need quick access to gifs in your menu bar? I do. That’s why I downloaded Gnome.

George Carlin on comedians who punch down. Not much has changed since 1990.

There’s a Game Changer: Home Edition game and you can back it on Kickstarter. There was a Smosh vs Dropout video where they played it. This looks like so much fun.

I’m old now, so of course I like to listen to and identify birds on my walks with Spike. So far, I have 22 different species identified using the Merlin Bird ID app. This is just walking around my condo complex.

Tonight’s throwback movie is the mostly forgot about 2006 comedy starring Justin Long: Accepted 🍿

Testing out Parachute to backup iCloud Photos and iCloud Drive to an external SSD, that is then backed up to Backblaze.

I’ve been playing around with Pure Blog a bit. I may wind up using it on an old blog that I only keep up for archival purposes. There’s no need to keep WordPress running on a blog I never post to anymore. Or I could just delete the old blog.

Bob Mortimer is so funny and his constant stumping of David Mitchell on Would I Lie to You is some of the best TV. Enjoy a compilation of Bob’s stories.

Now Playing: Oneirology by Cunninlynguists.

Trying out Calendars as a Fantastical replacement. I was a user of the app a long time ago before it was subscription. Interested to see how the modern version will work for me.

Red shouldered hawk.

Watched: Project Hail Mary 🍿. I really enjoyed this movie and I suspect there will be a lot of pets named Rocky soon.

You can import your Youtube subscriptions into Play and watch them directly in the app. This might be my new way to limit the amount of time I’m on Youtube and I can ignore the algorithm, Shorts, and Google’s constant changing of the subscription page.

Playing around with COAX some more. This is really promising. Really needs iCloud sync so you don’t have to configure the app (including the content) on each device. Can’t wait to see where this goes.

COAX looks pretty neat and may be an alternative if I ever decide to leave Channels.

The Shape of Paris starring Andy Anderson is a wonderful little short film showcasing the beauty of Paris with Anderson basically performing ballet on a skateboard.

For the longest time I used HyperDock on macOS. It hasn’t been updated for years and I never found a nice alternative. I recently discovered DockDoor and it looks like a pretty good replacement.

I think Home by The Ting Tings will be my next vinyl purchase. Love the vibe of this album.
