This game has been out for a long time, but I’ve been playing Sky: Children of the Light on the Switch a lot this week. It’s such a relaxing game with great music from the makers of Journey. What’s really nice is that it is free to play. 🎮
Replacing Twitter
For those seeking a better, calmer, and more organic Twitter alternative, I suggest taking a look at micro.blog. It’s paid for a hosted blog over there but you can BYOB (Bring Your Own Blog) for free. The latter can be anything: WordPress, Substack, Mastodon, etc. Source: - (A)social being
I couldn’t agree more. I will probably stop pushing my content from micro.blog to Twitter soon with Musk taking over. The only thing I wish micro.blog had is a location-based search so I can find users in my area.
My dog is so spoiled. He’s getting same day delivery of some bones.
I really hope some new smart smoke/carbon monoxide detectors come out now that Matter is settled. The Nest Protect has to be the worst product Google has made.
I don’t think there’s ever been a meal where I didn’t wish I was eating pizza. Even when I’m eating pizza I wish I was eating better pizza. When I’m eating better pizza I’m wondering what the best is. I like pizza.
From Seinfeld Current Day.
Apple pundits were not kidding when they talked about how bad the Setting app looked in Ventura. I can’t believe they shipped it.
I would pay for a Switch version of this endless driving game that’s how much I enjoy it.
30 Years of Goosebumps
“Can you imagine 30 years of this stuff? It’s hard to believe. When we started ‘Goosebumps,’ I said, ‘Let’s try two or three.’ I wasn’t real optimistic at the time. Now 30 years later, I’ve lost track of how many books.” Source: Author R.L. Stine celebrates 30 years of ‘Goosebumps’ at Library of Congress event - WTOP News
Goosebumps was a huge part of my childhood. I think I had at least the first 30 books in the series and here it is 30 years later and we’re still talking about them. Whenever a new one would come out my parents would take me to Waldenbooks at Jamestown Mall to get it. If it weren’t for these books, I may not have found my passion for reading.
I’ve decided to try adding my Ecobee camera back to HomeKit to use HKSV again. My internet seems a bit more stable since putting the Eero in bridge mode and using a Firewalla. One test yesterday was a success. Hopefully the connection issues don’t return.
I knew one of my AirPods that was replaced in May was bad. Shocked to find out both were already. Apple needs to figure this out.
I forgot they made multiple Free Willy movies. What a weird time.
Sports teams really know how to get every last dollar out of fans. Now you can pay money so you can be the first to pay them more money.
I’m on my second play through of Midnights this morning. It’s safe to say I enjoy this album.
I’m going to keep complaining about this. Report Junk and Delete should be two separate actions in messages in iOS 16. I shouldn’t be forced to say whether something is junk upon deletion. What a horrible design.
BetterTouchTool updated and put their own menu bar over Apple’s by default. Not cool at all. I had no idea what was going on or how to remove it until I dug into preferences.
The images of the Pillars of Creation from the James Webb Space Telescope are amazing. The slider tool to compare Hubble and Webb is pretty remarkable.
The wifi on my Eeros went from around 290-300 Mbps to 400+ Mbps after setting the Eero to bridge mode. I should have dumped Secure and done this a long time ago.
I took a gamble setting up my new Firewalla at lunch knowing that if my network went down and I couldn’t get it back up I’d be screwed for work this afternoon. Whole thing done in 15 mins with only one issue (had to reboot the modem after plugging in the Firewalla). So easy.
