I’ve been busy adding a lot of new features and bug fixes to Sports on TV recently. I thought I’d list out some of the biggest changes.

  • Soccer matches now show starting lineups (both full XIs, with position) when TheSportsDB has them on file. Motorsport and other events with no “Team A vs Team B” concept now show a real results table (finishing position, name, time) instead of just a bare title — previously these had no way to show an actual outcome at all. Player profiles now show a career timeline of past teams too.
  • Player profiles now show a real bio, height/weight/jersey number, birthplace, college, and social links (the bio was actually broken before — silently never loading), plus a season stats grid (batting/shooting/etc. depending on the sport). Team pages now show a stadium/founded-year/description “About” section and a full clickable roster, so you can browse from a team straight into any of its players.
  • “Where to Watch” now follows your Region/Country filter — pick “United States” (or any country) and event details only show broadcasts for that country instead of every country’s listing at once. Set it back to “All countries” to see everything again.
  • A league page now has its own “Standings” button (previously only reachable from an event’s detail view), and the standings table itself highlights qualification/promotion and relegation zones using data that was already being fetched but never shown.
  • Event details now show an all-time head-to-head series record for the two teams right away, without needing to click into the separate Head-to-Head view.
  • Event details now show a lot more at a glance: each team’s last 5 results as W/L/D pills, their current standings position (when a table’s available), a “Starts in…” countdown, a few more of that league’s upcoming games below the current one, and a per-event.
  • “Notify Me” button independent of favoriting the team.

Did you know that you can also embed a team’s schedule on your own site? Check it out in action below. Just navigate to a team page and click the Embed button to copy the code.
