I never want to use my iPhone as an external webcam on my Mac. I don’t know why every time I accidentally hover over camera settings (on accident) in Teams it prompts me. Leave me alone.

I can’t believe Poop Fiction is a thing but also love that it is.

Matt Langford has a great post on how to verify your domain on Nostr and Bluesky for micro.blog users. This comes in handy if you don’t have access to modify DNS records.

Apple really needs to do something about Siri getting triggered accidentally. It is happening way too often for me, multiple times per week. This is only going to get worse in iOS17 if you drop the “hey” part.

I really do enjoy Nathan Pyle’s Strange Planet comic. It’ll be interesting to see how the animated series on Apple TV Plus pans out.

I really have no interest in Threads. Did people not learn their lessons with the fall of Facebook and even how bad Instagram has become? People actually still trust Meta as a company? Weird.

21 seasons of Mythbusters is on Max. I may not leave the house for a while.

Christian fascists are just making up evidence to get to the Supreme Court now. This is a sham court.

I never got a notification from the state that my plates expired this month. Luckily, I just happened to look at my plate and noticed and was able to renew last week. It looks like I’m getting the new tags int he mail today. Just in time.

Duracell powercheck72 450
If you were around in the 1990s you probably remember destroying your fingers on the PowerCheck meter on Duracell batteries. Did you know there’s a fascinating history behind it, including a patent battle

Proton Pass has launched. I love Proton’s services and can’t wait to move from Bitwarden to Proton Pass but there’s two things preventing me from moving: Ability to store credit cards and a Safari extension for the Mac. Once it has those two things I think I’m all in.

Congrats to Roman Bürki and Tim Parker of St. Louis City SC on being selected for the MLS All Star roster.

I will have to play around with micropub posting with iOS shortcuts later. Looks pretty simple.

The future of this country is looking really scary, especially if corporations can vote in elections.

The Flash seems like a box office bomb. Is it that bad or are people just done with DC/superhero movies? I wanted to see it just for Michael Keaton, he was the first Batman I saw in theaters with my dad, but I still haven’t gone back to theaters since COVID began.

I really didn’t expect this many of my seeds to sprout from my bonsai kit.

Bonsai tree seeds starting to sprout.

This isn’t a new thought by any means, but Google has ruined the internet. It’s impossible to find good information these days. Simple searches (in any search engine) direct you to spammy SEO pages that may or may not actually contain the information you are looking for.

I’m stuck in a YouTube rabbit hole of history videos. Tonight’s topics were: The Norte Chico, the Olmec, and Cahokia.

Dan Moren has a new book coming out this fall called All Souls Lost, described as “a supernatural detective story set in the Boston area ithat involves spooky goings on at a big tech company.” Can’t wait for it. You can preorder it now.

I really wish Apple would stop trying to reopen windows and apps after a MacOS update. Nothing ever works correctly when it happens. Have to reboot again every single time.
